Six-Bullet Sunday ••••••

Happy Sunday 🌤. I’m feeling good about this week. Hope you are too. Stretch out, get some sleep, and go get it. But first enjoy at least a couple of these six bullets.

Sweatpants are a sign of defeat. ~Karl Lagerfeld

  • 🙊 Good Quote: Other than the recognizable pony tail, I don’t profess to know much about the late Lagerfeld, but did enjoy the quote. I wonder if it applied to athleisure wear, which is clearly a sign of victory…
  • 🐦 Favorite Tweet: Space Jam 2. Finally. 25 years since the first version with Jordan. #DateSaved
  • 😎 Cool Product: I must admit I have yet to give this product a try but looking forward the next office congratulations to kick the tires. This seems like a much better way to congratulate someone than the “pass this card around and everyone sign it and write something” approach that I’ve seen most organizations…

  • 📺 Youtube Goodness: Want to see how eggs are cracked at industrial scale? This video is actually a little hypnotizing as you watch factory machines do common tasks. Maybe we’ll see you back on the 5th bullet in half an hour or so…

  • 🧠 Smart Thinking: In Iceland they used a 3D illusion to make a crosswalk appear to be hovering — in efforts to slow down speeding cars. Check out the pictures, I’d certainly slow down. Also, when I shared with my wife she found the feature very interesting, but asked why I was reading Iceland Magazine, doesn’t everyone?

Photos, Video: 3D crosswalk in Ísafjörður helps slow down speeding motorists | Icelandmag — icelandmag.is

The small fishing town of Ísafjörður in the Westfjords unveiled the first ever “3D crosswalk” in Iceland. The crosswalk, which is painted to look like it is hovering over the street, is intended to slow down traffic and reduce driving speeds in the narrow residential streets of the old town of Ísafjörður.

  • 📞 Referral of the Week: Over the past several years I started getting more and more “expert network” requests from GLG and other similar sites. At first they were mostly surveys and then more and more 30–60 minute consulting interviews, always on topics I know and spend a lot of time on. Aside from getting paid (and being able to pick your own $/hour rate), I find these helpful to hear how analysts and others are thinking about the industries I work or have worked in. This is my referral link for GLG, check if out if you want to see what being an “expert” in an expert network is all about. It may also help you find ways to use them as a client too.

Thanks for tuning in. See ya next week.
