• 🧠 Smart Thinking: In Iceland they used a 3D illusion to make a crosswalk appear to be hovering — in efforts to slow down speeding cars. Check out the pictures, I’d certainly slow down. Also, when I shared with my wife she found the feature very interesting, but asked why I was reading Iceland Magazine, doesn’t everyone?

The small fishing town of Ísafjörður in the Westfjords unveiled the first ever “3D crosswalk” in Iceland. The crosswalk, which is painted to look like it is hovering over the street, is intended to slow down traffic and reduce driving speeds in the narrow residential streets of the old town of Ísafjörður.

• 📞 Referral of the Week: Over the past several years I started getting more and more “expert network” requests from GLG and other similar sites. At first they were mostly surveys and then more and more 30–60 minute consulting interviews, always on topics I know and spend a lot of time on. Aside from getting paid (and being able to pick your own $/hour rate), I find these helpful to hear how analysts and others are thinking about the industries I work or have worked in.
