On The Voice, Britton Buchanan sang and performed a magnificent rendition of “Small Town” by John Mellencamp. Britton noted that he lives in a small town and responds to this song.

Kelly Clarkson said that Britton is an amazing vocalist and is the coolest person. Kelly said that he is owning all these women in the crowd. Kelly said that he is a next generation Mellencamp.

Alicia Keys thanked Blake Shelton for blocking Adam Levine from getting Britton. Alicia said that Britton does not need this stage or anybody else because his destiny is to be here. Alicia could feel America rooting for him because they can see that he belongs here. Alicia is excited for Britton as they have seen him bloom throughout this competition.

Growing up, Britton preferred picking flowers in the outfield to actually playing the game. He left sports behind and followed his intuition toward guitar and musical theater. Britton’s parents introduced him to ’70s and ’80s rock and folk music, and he joined a classic rock band when he was 13. A year later, he won a songwriting contest that gave him the opportunity to record with renowned engineer John Davenport, whose credits include Robert Palmer’s album “Riptide” and Bruce Springsteen’s album “Born in the U.S.A.” Britton is now embarking on his solo career as a musical artist.

The Voice Social Media Reactions

The four-time Emmy Award-winning “The Voice” returns with the strongest vocalists from across the country invited to compete in the blockbuster vocal competition show’s new season. Superstar singer-songwriter Clarkson makes her debut as a coach this season, with Season 12-winning coach and musical icon Keys taking a red chair alongside the show’s returning coaches, Levine and Shelton, and host Carson Daly.

In the final live performance phase of the competition, the Top 12 artists will compete each week against each other during a live broadcast. The television audience will vote to save their favorite artists. Three artists with the lowest number of votes will be eligible for the instant save. These artists will each perform a new song that represents why they should earn the save. America will then have the opportunity to save their favorite performer by tweeting out #VoiceSave along with the artist’s name. The singers with the lowest number of votes will be sent home each week. In the end, one will be named “The Voice” and will receive the grand prize of a recording contract.
