New Instagram shopping features you need to use on Black Friday

Instagram rolled out some upgraded shopping features last Thursday, much to the delight of marketers preparing Black Friday and Cyber Monday campaigns.

Actually, Instagram has been working to improve the shopping experience since June, when they were testing the Shopping in stories and Shopping in Explore features, which rolled out in September.

Now with the latest update on Thursday, Instagram users can save to a new shopping collection so that they can come back and look at items later.

Instagram is also testing a redesign of the Shop tab on business profiles so that users can simply click the ‘Shop’ button to see a product’s name, price and the post featuring the item.

Finally, users can now shop directly from a brand’s video by clicking the shopping icon when watching a video, which then reveals all the products in the video.

For marketers developing Black Friday campaigns, using these features properly is key to maximizing ROI.

Even for those who already have their campaigns in place and ready to go — some of these features need to be worked into your already approved campaigns.
