Study The Trends and Stay Updated

This probably sounds a little strange, but everyone rushes into trendy growth marketing strategies these days. While the temptation is there to rush it, it is probably better to pause. if you slow down and think about what your business needs, what the market has to offer and what the trends are for consumers, your business will be on better footing than if you try and rush along with the trends. Once you run with a trend, it is not as easy to undo what you started. Pausing and researching throughout the year allows you time to look act trends and their impacts on your business. Keep up with ongoing trends on social media platforms, such as Instagram and Snapchat, or others that your audience seems to be on the most. You should also look at media or audience influencers on Twitter or Instagram to see where the trends might be going to next, so you can be ready when it happens.

Set Your Goals and Targets

One of the best things you can do for your business is to set goals. Many businesses use the SMART goals philosophy. Each individual goal must be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and timely. While it may sound silly, SMART goals help you to focus on what is really important to your business, and how you will know when you have reached that goal. To really use the SMART philosophy, think about the following:

● Specific — your goal must be clear

● Measurable — your goal has to be measured so that you’ll know if you achieved it

● Achievable — do you have the time, money, and resources to meet this goal

● Relevant — does this goal fit with the long-term direction you are going with your business

● Timely — how long will it take you to achieve this goal

Focus on Digital Tactics

Digital trends are important in today’s business culture. If you don’t stay ahead of the digital trends, you are giving your competition an advantage over you in terms of marketing strategy.

In other words, you have to do more with digital marketing than have a website and a small social media presence. Instead, you have to use the social media presence actively, changing and updating them regularly to keep your audience interested and engaged. While you can start out small with free applications such as Facebook and Instagram, you can also expand into mobile advertising, lead generation apps and other apps to use for your business. You may want to create your own business app.

Organize a Business Seminar or Event

There is nothing like organizing business seminars to market your great new business and create more awareness of your brand in the business community, which is why so many business conferences take place yearly.

Be sure your seminar gets off on the right foot. If you can stage it perfectly with great motivational speakers, your business or brand will get noticed, because it shows the business community that your business can create a wow-factor seminar on a deadline. A poorly-staged conference will have the opposite effect and create negative impressions in the business community.

If you have a solid plan, get it out and study it. Get some good help from people who know what they are going and can plan and collaborate well. Business seminars allow entrepreneurs to pitch ideas to possible investors, launch a new product, raise capital for a project, engage with customers or stakeholders and propose a new business venture.

Passion is Contagious

If you have never run a business before, and you find yourself getting discouraged or feeling lethargic, don’t. All entrepreneurs have gone through the state of feeling overwhelmed. It is easy to get that way as an entrepreneur because there is so much to juggle: paperwork, people management, customer management, local competition, and the drive to succeed is just a few of the reasons people get discouraged.

However, it is when you find yourself getting discouraged that you need to rediscover your passion. Why did you decide to begin a business in the first place? Passion surely had something to do with it — you thought that you could do something better than anyone else out there. Rediscover that passion, and let it help you push forward because when you are passionate about your business and what you do, other people will see it and respond to it.

Switch Up Your Growth Marketing Tactics Regularly

When you’re starting to feel successful, don’t rest on your laurels. If you repeat the same old things again, there’s no real change to your business, and there’s no real profit from ideas. Perhaps switching up marketing initiatives quarterly would be a good idea. That way, you can try new ideas or digital tools, while keeping the initiatives you felt really worked well. There are so many great new tools on the horizon, such as live streaming video, geofencing, machine learning, Artificial Intelligence, and IOT, the possibilities are endless for experimenting with marketing techniques.

Good businesses have a little bit of the old, and a little bit of the new thrown in when it comes to marketing techniques. As long as you still have your passion for your work, you will find new ways to grow your business.

Identify New Opportunities

Another way to market your business is to be on the lookout for new opportunities because those opportunities are vital for the survival of your business. You may be able to find those new opportunities through a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats). The SWOT analysis is used by many businesses to be able to identify new opportunities that you may not have thought of. Be particularly mindful of the Opportunities portion of the analysis, because that is where new ideas come from.
