Hillary Clinton killed in a monster truck Mishap at Chappaqua, N.Y., Motor Speedway is fake news. There is no truth to a report that the former U.S. Secretary of State and 2016 U.S. presidential candidate was now dead following an accident at a monster truck show in upstate New York. Rather, Clinton has been the subject of many fake news, tweets, photographs and memes.

Where did this fake news originate? Daily World Update published the fake news article on May 2, 2018, reporting that Clinton was among friends and family when she was killed during a monster truck mishap at a non-existent motor speedway. You can read the fake news below.

Hillary Clinton was sitting with friends and her daughter, Chelsea, at the Chappaqua Motor Speedway in upstate New York earlier this evening when 11 tons of American steel and irony jumped the rails, injuring thirty-five people and killing Clinton.

The machine, the Big Blue Bernie Or Buster, is a modified Jeep CJ-7. The right rear shock, with a diameter of 40 inches and weighing 403 pounds, imploded Clinton’s head at approximately 14 miles per hour. The coroner said it would have been a solid minute of excruciating pain combined with a cognitive awareness that your head was about to be crushed like a grape.

However, there is no truth to the above story. What is the problem with the story to make it false? Well, there is no legitimate news coverage of such a story happening. Additionally, there is no “Chappaqua Motor Speedway” and the links provided in the fake news do not provide any relevant source material to back the outrageous claim about Clinton’s death. The New York Times also does not have any results appear covering this “breaking news” concerning Clinton’s death.

Finally, and most importantly, Daily World Update carries the following disclaimer on its website:

In actual real news about Clinton, The Huffington Post reported that several Democratic officials are asking that she return the money that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) paid her political group for her campaign email list and other resources.

In February 2017, the DNC agreed to pay Clinton’s group Onward Together $1.65 million for her campaign email list, analytics, donor data and related items, The Intercept reported. The Huffington Post noted that this material was worth more than $5 million; Clinton’s campaign made an in-kind donation of resources worth $3.5 million, and the DNC paid for the rest.
